History
Cerca Design House is the result of a dream to create an elegant and contemporary refuge where you can relax in the warmth of the Estrela and Gardunha mountains.
Formerly known as Casa dos Machados, Casa da Cerca initially belonged to the Chãos manor house and remained in the family for eight generations.
It was inherited by José Trigueiros de Aragão Osório Martel, who was Mayor of Fundão and Provider of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia. It fell into disuse and abandonment over the years until the visit of Marta Augusto Rafael and her family.
Believing in the potential of the property and the region, the family invested in a project that culminated in the transformation of Casa da Cerca into charming tourism.
Located in the municipality of Fundão, 30 minutes from Serra da Estrela.
The Cerca Design House is a harmonious fusion between the refurbishment of a century-old manor house and the renovation of a new one. XVII and a contemporary and exclusive design.
The sobriety of the stone, which harks back to the time of the morgados, contrasts with the soft touch of the burel and the vibrant colors of a decor designed for the well-being of body and mind.
